The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.
