Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after that period of 2023.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
His counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an improved serving game.
He came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the last five games to go ahead.
The competitors traded break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
The opponent defended four initial break points in a close final set before the Russian broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
